An Australian LS V8 RWD sedan Americans never knew existed. Buy it before the parts situation gets worse.

Score breakdown

Our take

What it really is

The Pontiac G8 is the Holden Commodore VE, built in Australia with GM's L76 6.0L V8. It was sold in the US for two years (2008-2009) before GM killed Pontiac. The dead brand creates a discount. The Holden-specific parts create a caveat.

Why it's on this list

LS V8 RWD 4-door sedan for under $18k. The L76 engine parts are shared with LS-family (most things). The driving experience is genuinely sports sedan competitive with much more expensive European alternatives.

The honest trade-offs

Some G8 parts are Holden-only. Know what's LS-shared and what isn't before a major repair. Pontiac is a dead brand with no dealer network. Parts availability will only get harder over time.

What to buy and what to avoid

GT only (the V8). Verify which parts have been replaced recently. Buy from a known Pontiac community seller. These cars are now enthusiast-owned and typically well-maintained.
