What it really is
The Pontiac G8 is the Holden Commodore VE, built in Australia with GM's L76 6.0L V8. It was sold in the US for two years (2008-2009) before GM killed Pontiac. The dead brand creates a discount. The Holden-specific parts create a caveat.
Why it's on this list
LS V8 RWD 4-door sedan for under $18k. The L76 engine parts are shared with LS-family (most things). The driving experience is genuinely sports sedan competitive with much more expensive European alternatives.
